Fun time in Wainwright

Well it is official! I have no friends and nothing to do! Yup! I was so bored tonight and could not get one person to go to the *Alma* theater in town with me tonight so I decided to go myself. It is *Rodeo* week in town here and people are obsessed with the stampede, the carnies, the zipper/gravitron and the *mini donuts*. Me? I try to stay away from carnies at all costs. I went to the movies instead and was apparently the only person in Wainwright who did. I went to see Get Smart because I am in love with Steve Carrel. Anyway..i was the ONLY person in the WHOLE ENTIRE theater. It was super creepy at first because the theather is rumored to be haunted and confirmed by several people (good upstanding folk) who I know who have worked there that YES it is HAUNTED. Sooo at first I was a bit tense that I was going to see a ghost but then got over it when I realized a ghost would mean I was actually socializing with another person (or sort of person. The movie was funny and cheered me up and it kind of felt like I was rich or a celebrity and rented out the theater for myself.

I am getting ready to go on my trip to Europe (leaving on the 27th) and I am SUPER nervous! I am not sure why but I am having some problems! I feel really unprepared and am now doing some serious trip knowledge cramming. AUGGGG! I am sure it will be fine!

I just wanted everyone to know that I love Arrested Development (the show) and wish it was still on! I also love the Office and have a super big crush on Micheal. Yes, not JIM..Micheal. I also think Andy Bernard is Hillllarious on that show. Whent whent whent See you!

P.S. I am going to dye my hair really really dark brown (not black but almost) and go all EMO on everyone. Tommorow after I help out at the temple for the youth doing baptizem. LOL that sounds weird.

mini juicers, curly hair and prom pictures...randoms from my day

Okay.......... so I have a few things to share including those cement pictures which you are now looking at directly below. Of course this is just the "frame" so not a lot to see..pictures old cobblestone in your mind :P I also painted this fence last weekend so it actually doesn't look like "wood about to rot" (It took me three years to paint the inside of my fence...only the outside to go now....!)

See won't it be cool?

Random#1
So it was POURING rain here today and my hair got all wet. It went soo curly..I don't know when it got like this because I used to have straight hair.

Random #2
I *squeeze* a lot of lemons/citrus (that isn't a secret code for something either) and just for everyone's general knowledge with a regular hand juicer I average about 2 Tbsp of juice. I bought this beauty at Walmart yesterday for $8.00 bucks and am now doubling my quota per lemon. Think of the money my "investment" will save me. hehehe.

Random # 3
So I did a *photoshoot* for one of my YW's prom pictures (oh sorry...GRAD..) Here are a few of my favorites!

It takes too long to do the pictures so these four will have to do. If anyone has any tips on how to put pictures on easier let me know. I just made a slide show with some more pictures if anyone is interested in checking them out??? It is in my blog links (I think that is what it is called under the link Picasa)

Good day!

Soooooo...today was a great day so I thought I would share a bit! At work, we had to go and fit some hearing aids on a old man at the hospital. He has recently had a stroke and had not been able to hear anything for about 2 months. His wife and he (who have been married for 54 years) had been communicating by writing, which I am sure was super frustrating. Anyway, when he had the hearing aids on and realized he could now hear again...the look on his face was worth a million dollars. He was so happy!! It is things like that, that make the other 100 crazy cranky seniors bearable!

I am getting some "decorative concrete' work done in my backyard by one of my friends. It is amazing! It is just a concrete slab but he has stamps that make a pattern that TOTALLY look like old rustic bricks, cobblestone, river rocks, board walk etc. It is unbelievable! Anyway he came today to do the prep work. All he did was make the frame and level the ground but it already looks about a million times better then I imagined! It has a wave pattern on one side and curves around some trees..very cool. I will have to post a picture when I am not feeling super lazy.

Our Young womens activity was fun as well...we did some creative photography and I "taught" the YW some camera tricks. I have taken some picture of some of them, so they were excited to learn for themselves. Even though I was kind of just making things up as I went along it was fun to share some of my limited talent! I am actually going to take picture of one of the girls on Saturday for her prom with another friend of mine so I will have to post a few! I am feeling inspired so I am going to go and take a picture of my "concrete stuff" and post a few picture of the YW that I took!!! I am looking for attention!! Ok! After all that I can't find my camera cord to download the pictures soooooo another day for the outside stuff!

Here are 2 of my BEAUTIFUL YW

Update on life

Hi. I really don't want to say something like: "Well I thought I'd give this blogging thing a try...etc...but I don't really have any better way to start this thing off. I feel like a dork but maybe it will be a good creative outlet as I have recently boycotted scrapbooking and all things related. This year has been a..hummmmm...different one. Ryan decided that he just HAD TO go to Afganistan to work with the Army as a medic. Let's all remember that Ryan is NOT actually in the army. But we both felt that that was where he was supposed to be for this moment in time, or rather Ryan felt that way and caught me on a really good day and I agreed! and so that is where he is right now! Playing doctor, sleeping outside in the desert and doing *secret operations*. He is due to come home to glorious Wainwright where crowds will be applauding him around October where he will go back to his old jobs (he took a military leave of absence) as a firefighter and a medic. Here is another picture of Ryan when he went in some firefighter challenge. It was really hard but he did well and was a personal goal checked off the list for him...

As for me...I am getting the unique (or not) experience of being all by myself. I know that sounds super depressing but it really isn't! I am a temporary military wife! I am very busy at work and since January have had to travel around quite a bit. I went to Toronto, Calgary and BC for some *conferences* and also tagged along with my parent to Las Vegas (my Dad had a work thing). Las Vegas.hummmmm....I don't think I would ever go back..but then I was just on the "strip" which is a surreal world all of it's own. I'm just like some high powered exective single women ;P For a bit anyway! I am also taking lots of pictures for people and I don't know what....I guess watching 90201 reruns. And learning so much...like how to call a plumber twice in a weekend for 2 unrelated plumbing events. And how to switch off main valves and fancy things like that. Look people in Afganistan have the same clothing as I do: I own the SAME shirt!!! What does this say about me? Or him? Please feel free to comment!!
